Athus cuvée 2021

After the winter the arrival of real spring was delayed, started cool so the gemmation was late. After the prolonged development the summer was dry, with minimal rain so the ripening of grapes speeded up. Harvest started later than usual on 25^th August with Medoc noir, then in September it followed with the picking of rosé varieties. From here there was no stop and thanks to the beneficial warmth an intense harvest followed. Beside of Portugieser Pinot Noir also got into the cellar and thanks to the durable, pleasant, dry Autumn weather we closed the works with the last varieties in the usual time. As summary though the development started late, beside of the low bunch quantities we harvested healthy and high quality grape. Tasting the new wines we can book an excellent vintage giving rich and lively wines.
