Gere Ikon Vintage 2012

The year of extremities. The winter was very cold and it snowed a lot. The snow layer protected most of the vine stocks against damage. In spring frost harmed the vines. In summer the dryness was great. Due to the great heat and dryness the grape was ripen quicker, 2-3 weeks earlier as usual. The size of the berries was much smaller but the content of them was very fine and concentrated with a high must degree. On the whole the vintage is outstanding. Full bodied, concentrated wines were born.
